So today Veeam announced their latest feature in version 8 which is something that i’ve been wanting for some time now, this feature is known as Cloud Connect –> http://go.veeam.com/v8-cloud-connect
The purpose of this feature is that it allows service providers to Office BaaS (Backup As a Service) to customers and allow them to integrate Veeam B&R to a Service Provider and allow them to use the service provider as a remote repostiory.
This requires that a service provider adds Cloud Gateway in their infrastructure and then customers can add them directly from the console in v8
And since this uses SSL it allows for true multi tenant without the use of VPN appliances between the provider and the customers.
Looking really forward to this feature! will be writing more about this when it releases.
